Little House in Napanee - we've been working on a house in Napanee, a last minute rescue. The client had two contractors cancel and was desperate to have the project completed prior to her energy audit. This is an old post and beam house which has seen a lot over the years.

Many families, a homeowner who was passionate about renovating and with not much skill. Many surprises with the electrical wiring. Please do not do this yourself, it could be dangerous. It is better to do one project at a time as finances permit and if you want to learn, perhaps hire someone and work along with them so you can get the first-hand knowledge.

There were two existing additions at the back of the house. Done at different times. One had 7 layers of shingles; we were fortunate with good weather and only had 4 days to get it done. In the end there were 3 dumpsters full of building material which equalled about 3 tons!

A lot of thought needs to go into this project, so this house will be an ongoing process as we need to put in a kitchen, some much needed closets, and a window so the client could see the birds and the garden in the back. A ‘breakfast bar’ under the window will be included.
