About us

In September of 2000 the Melon Patch opened its doors in the Historic Village of Bath, Ontario. Today, we spend our days in quaint old building on the Main Street. The Melon Patch is home to a stunning collection of antiques, artwork, furniture, Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan and smalls – many of which are sourced locally. Since our opening, we have grown and moved locations. It was only after opening a store in Kingston, that we discovered we truly loved the Village of Bath and returned in 2011 to the realization that we want to be instrumental in the success of our village.

The Melon Patch was born out of a love for well-made and beautifully crafted objects together with a passion for helping people develop their own individual style. Elizabeth Sarich-Harvey is the vision behind our success. Living in both Europe and Canada, Elizabeth’s aesthetic reflects the patina of the old world, a bit of big city contemporary and the charm of the Eastern Ontario countryside.

Over the years Elizabeth has brought a bit of Europe to Ontario and was the first retailer to bring Chalk Paint™ to Canada. She has also added the line of Scavolini kitchens from Italy to the design portfolio and is one of the only retailers outside of a big city. Elizabeth and her team are passionate about creating beauty at home or in the garden. Whether in the area or beyond, we hope you will stop by for a visit!
