I am in love with dark wax October 19 2011, 0 Comments

I was intimidated by the dark wax at first and my first project went back to the drawing board and I , have grown to love it.

It gives another dimension to the paint, that suits my tastes.

I first stared having furniture painted in the early 70’s , then it was milk paint and lacquer finish.

My dining room chairs are a traditional Queen Anne painted Chinese red, a little more orange than the Empeoro’s Silk , I had the seats done in black leather and the side chairs  are Chinese Chippendale ribbon backs with  Red Ostrich  leather seats. I  like the oriental look and wanted to achieve  a similar look with the Annie Sloan paints.

Here are some images of my work in progress

Doors are missing they need a bit of work

This the finish

So far I am loving the look .  Will do a final photo when the doors are  on.

This paint and wax allows you be creative and adventurous if want to go in that direction.

Until next time
