I recently had the opportunity to visit Anthropologie we have a couple of small stores in Toronto and when I get a chance to get away ,which is not often I try and visit as many places as possible to get some fresh ideas.

This item on the wall which I believe was around $1,250 caught my eye.

I purchased some resin appliques for the store and have not had a chance to use try them out and this display gave me a couple of ideas. My results are not as grand but it challenged me to try a few different things.

Resin Applique

I used a kitchen door as the base painted it with Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ™ , glued on the applique you need to wait 24 hours (that’s the hard part ) before you can paint over it . I then painted the whole thing with Duck Egg Blue Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ™ . I used the Craquler step 1 and 2 from Annie Sloan, some Pear Plaster ( a new product ) which I am still learning about and some Gold and Silver gilding wax and of course Dark Wax from Annie Sloan.

I am pretty happy with the results still a lot to learn. but it would make a nice wall mounted piece or a stationary panel on piece of furniture.
